2nd Quarterly Awards Assembly

The 2nd Quarterly Awards Assembly today for the AFJROTC MD-802 Corp was a success. The Assembly commenced Starting off with the Star Spangled Banner and Negro National Anthem sung by Ms. Rose and followed by an inspiring speech by Bladensburg Mayor, Mr. James. But the assembly was not all talk. There were two amazing performances to entertain cadets and the surpirse visit of Ms. Mahoney, our principal. Drill Team member Aquilah Simpkins and our X/O (now Major) Brianna Crawford did an outstanding job with an unarmed drill team performance. They were followed by Drill Team Commander Ismael Reyes and Anthony Crawnston's thrilling, rifle flipping armed exhibition. After multiple awards were given out and cadets were congradulated for their outstanding performence, academic and uniform appereance, it was time for promotions. The first year cadets showed pure excitment at their first promotion of Airman or Airman First Class. The Assebly was a beautiful sight.
